Between the 4th and 6th of November, Green Youth Serbia will organize their 8th annual Eko fest. The event is a festival that uses movies, discussions, exhibitions and workshops to address environmental topics. In previous years, Eko fest focused on a wide range of topics, including nuclear energy, organic agriculture, genetically modified food, recycling, sustainable urban transportation, natural disasters and climate politics. The topic for 2016 is” Water as a public good”.
Due to the importance of water for all beings, protection is necessary. In recent years we have witnessed the deterioration of water quality, as well as its reduced availability. This has led to an increase in water prices. Given its vital role, it is becoming crucial to democratise the springs, water courses, and water supply networks. At the festival, speakers will present the situation of water management both in Serbia and at the international level and raise awareness of the issue.
The festival will be held in Magacin, Kraljevica Marka St. no 4. The event does not charge entry fees and is available to the public.
