“I am Valbona” starts as a concept from the cooperation of conceptual contemporary arts with the dispute about Valbona River. This, being a very disturbing argument for the Albanian nation against the monstrous construction in this precious natural resource in North Albania. It’s actually Valbona herself protesting, with her whole majestic being. You can see her and you can hear her: “I am Valbona, the pearl of this earth… and I’m crying out” is precisely the essence of this installation project which was conceptualized to be realized at Skenderbeg Square in Tirane on May 24th 2018 at 21:00. This project features the visual side of the frenzy as the rage of Valbona and her original sound howling through the capital’s center as an alarm to reflect and halt the destruction of Albania’s natural treasures. This form of art-protest tends to give Valbona the power of a self-protest in public.
